Lucas County, OH
Since 2014, Lucas County Board of Commissioners has housed the Welcome Toledo-Lucas County (TLC) initiative, in partnership with LISC Toledo. Welcome TLC works to advance an inclusive and global community that supports a vibrant civic, economic, and social fabric for all. The initiative is governed by a steering committee of government, non-profit, economic development, and business leaders, as well as immigrants, refugees, and people of diverse cultures. Lucas County supports the work of Advocates for Basic Legal Equality (ABLE)’s Immigration Advocacy project, including citizenship clinics and naturalization education. In addition, Welcome TLC, including Lucas County staff and steering committee partners such as the Toledo Lucas County Public Library, provides information and outreach to service provider partners and eligible legal permanent residents on the benefits of naturalization and available naturalization programs. Lucas County and Welcome TLC are committed to promoting naturalization as part of our efforts to expand economic opportunities and revitalize the Toledo region.
